Job Description Sync Integration with Workday

This guide covers the deployment of the Workday - TechWolf Job Description Sync Integration: what the integration does, the Workday configuration it requires, and how it is enabled. The intended audience is the Integration Implementer.

Functional Objective

Job descriptions are authored, improved, and published in the TechWolf Console. Without this integration, getting the approved text back into Workday is a manual copy-paste step. The Job Description Sync closes that loop: when a job’s primary description is published in TechWolf, the matching Workday Job Profile’s description is updated automatically. Key benefits:
  • No manual re-entry: published descriptions land on the Workday Job Profile within minutes, with formatting preserved (converted to Workday rich text).
  • Self-healing: a scheduled weekly reconciliation re-checks every job in scope, so a missed update always converges back to the published version.
  • Safe by construction: the integration only ever writes the job description field — skills, titles, and every other profile field are untouched — and it never creates or deletes job profiles.
  • Fully auditable: every update is a regular Manage Job Profile business process event in your tenant’s history, so Workday’s change history and rescind tooling apply to every change.

Scope

  • One-way: TechWolf → Workday. TechWolf is the source of truth for the primary job description.
  • Single primary description per job. Multilingual descriptions are not supported.
  • Jobs are matched 1:1 on your tenant’s configured identifier (Job Profile ID, or Workday ID) — the same identifier mapping as the Job Skill Sync.

Enablement

Configuration is self-service in the TechWolf Console: enter the Integration System User credentials, run the connection validation (a reversible test write against a job profile you designate), and enable. See Installation for the required Workday permissions — for tenants already running the Job Skill Sync, setup is a single additional security grant.
