Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants call outside data sources directly. The TechWolf MCP connector is an MCP server that lets AI assistants such as Copilot, Claude, or any other MCP-compatible tool read your organization’s TechWolf data. Connecting TechWolf to your AI assistant gets you three things:
  • Flexible retrieval and reasoning over TechWolf data, using the intelligence of the AI assistant you already use.
  • TechWolf data inside your daily tools — documents, spreadsheets, presentations.
  • Combined insights across systems: adding MCP connections to other workforce data sources (HCM, financial systems, contingency platforms) lets your assistant reason over those systems and TechWolf data together.
This supports strategic HR use cases such as talent development, redeployment, strategic workforce planning, and work redesign.

What it can and can’t do

The connector reads from the three TechWolf data products held for your organization — Skill Intelligence, Work Intelligence, and Market Intelligence. It adds no new data sources.
  • Read-only. The connector cannot modify or delete any skill or task data.
  • Centralized access. A user can only access data they explicitly have access to, as configured in the TechWolf Console.

Who can use it

Access is managed in the TechWolf Console. A user needs a Console account on your organization to connect, and what they see through the connector is exactly what their Console permissions allow — removing access takes effect on their next call. Most customers scope access to HR business partners or a dedicated transformation team; your own administrators manage this in the Console.

Connecting

Your organization’s admin adds the connector once per AI assistant, using the connector URL TechWolf provides during onboarding. After that, each user connects individually: they sign in through your own identity provider (the same single sign-on as the TechWolf Console) and approve a consent screen. No passwords or API keys are shared with the assistant. The connector also works behind an organization-wide MCP gateway; see Security for the requirements.

How is this different from the TechWolf Analyst Agent?

The Analyst Agent is an AI assistant hosted by TechWolf that answers workforce questions out of the box, in the Console or as a custom agent in Copilot, on a credit system. The MCP connector works inside AI assistants you already use. It reaches your TechWolf data inside your daily tools, and can be combined with other MCP connectors in the same assistant.
