# Overview

## Scenario

This tutorial describes how you can use External Companies within the Skill
Engine API, including:

* Managing External Companies inside the system.
* Linking Vacancies and desired functions to an External Company.
* Matching between Employees and External Companies

This functionality is primarily aimed at our staffing & employment agency
customers.

## Preparation

For this tutorial, we assume that you have a set of Employees created within the
system already. This step is described in the
[vacancy matching tutorial](/tutorials/vacancy-matching/entity-creation/).
