# Overview

A Skill Event influences the Skillset of an Employee. When an Employee finishes
a Course, receives feedback, starts a new function, or when another event occurs
that gives additional info to an Employee's Skill Profile, a Skill Event can be
generated.

Skill Events allow you to monitor the evolution of an Employee's Skill Profile
and allow you to pinpoint exactly what Skills your Employees had at a certain
time. Skill Events also enable an easy method of adding new information to a
profile.
